Advanced – Hallett Cove Civic Centre

Hallett Cove Civic Centre (Advanced Arduino)

The Advanced Arduino workshops will run over the course of eight weeks. Some experience with Ardublock or similar programming is advisable before attempting the Advanced Arduino workshops. Reasonable keyboard skills are a benefit as we will be typing in lines of code to program the Arduinos. Graduates of the Beginners Arduino workshops are well qualified to attempt these workshops. Parents are encouraged to participate with their children.

In the same manner of the Beginners workshops, this is a very hands-on process and each week will involve putting little projects together to make things work, while developing skills in thinking logically about how to program and trouble-shoot problems. The attendees will not be able to take projects home with them.

By the end of the eight weeks, the attendees should have a good understanding of how programming and the Arduino microprocessor works. They can then be encouraged and assisted to download the program and commence experimenting with their own projects for home.

Attendees do not need to bring anything, all equipment will be provided.

As the workshops will be adding knowledge from week to week, it is important that the attendees commit to attending every session. Missed sessions due to unforeseen circumstances can be accommodated, however missing more than one session at a time is not considered ideal.

The dates for the Beginners Arduino workshops for Term 3, 2018 are: Saturdays, July 28th, Aug 11th, 18th, 25th, Sep 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd. We skip the Science Alive Weekend. (Aug 4th)

The workshops will be held at the Cove Civic Centre, Ramrod Avenue, Hallett Cove, 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

The cost of the workshops is $30 per session, so the whole eight week program is $240.

Places are limited to 10 participants per session, so the first confirmed bookings will be accommodated.

To confirm your place in the next series of workshops, payment must be made IN FULL ($240) into the account as detailed below. Label the deposit with the attendees name to confirm their place. An email will be sent acknowledging the payment and confirming the placing.
